This dress was perfect for my Arwen LOTR Halloween costume! It actually matches Arwen's 'Requiem' gown very nicely. And it's such a lovely and unexpected shade of blue, dusty, and dreamy. The fabric itself is great quality, a substantial (heavy) velvet. I was very comfortable all night, and never got too hot. It's very soft, and drapes beautifully! I'm 5'3", 132 lbs, 34 B .... I measured into the medium - and the medium fit almost perfectly...there was a tiny bit of extra room in the bust (but better than a little too tight). Fabric is stretchy, easy to put on/take off. As I'm short, (no surprise) the length of the dress was too long on me. If I didn't pick up the fabric when going up/down stairs, or rushing through the house...the fabric dragged around, and I would trip. I wasn't about to spend the extra money to get it hemmed...but maybe if I wore it again. If you look at pictures of Arwen's dresses in the movies, all of them had extra fabric on the floor...so beautiful, she is a princess after all --and her dresses aren't meant to be practical! So I at least looked the part! :)

The dress has a surprising amount of heaviness to it (in a good way) and is very comfortable and flattering to wear. I’m 5’4, measurements: 36” 29” 40” The small is a little tight around the arms. The velvet is stretchy with a lot of give, but the trimming on the cuff and belt leave no room for forgiveness at all. That said, I totally recommend it! I’ll be letting out the cuffs a little on mine, but if you can find a size medium I know from my experience with a near-identical dress from the same company that every part will fit nicely.
